Fossil Rim Overlook |

After your tour or scenic drive, stop by the Overlook to
snack,
stroll, or shop, while taking in the natural beauty
of Fossil Rim. |

|
The Overlook Cafe is perfect for a light snack or a hearty
lunch indoors or out, with a heart-stopping view of the valley
below where giraffe, zebra, red deer and countless exotic
animals graze and gather at a stream. Picnic tables under
the trees are also
available. |

|
The Nature Store is filled with books & educational materials,
fascinating gifts, fine art and unusual handcrafts, many
of which represent the work of Texas artisans. |

|
Our Children's Animal Center is a favorite for children
and grown-ups alike. See and touch angora goats, Barbados
sheep, birds and reptiles, and lots of pygmy goats. The
newest residents are Karakul sheep, Winston and Oliver. |

|
The Nature Trail is a half mile, moderately strenuous hike
along a hillside. You'll see cacti, fossils, wildflowers
and beautiful vistas. Interpretive signs along the trail
explain local natural history. |
