Ride
the Rim Sign Up Information
Hi Folks. You've
decided to join us. Great. Here's all you need to know to enjoy
your mountain biking experience.
What to bring with you:
You need a bike in good working order. This can be a hybrid or mountain bike
for the Family Tour and the Moonlight Tour, but has to be a mountain bike
for the Beginner or Experienced Tour. You'll also need to have a HELMET.
This is MANDATORY. If you show up and you don't have one,
we can't let you ride here. We don't sell them, we don't have them to
loan, and you cannot ride
here without one. So don't forget that important piece of safety equipment.
Other than that, you can bring water, whatever you like for personal items
on a ride (sunscreen, gloves, camera, binoculars, etc.)
How much is
it?:
This tour is $35.00 per person. That price includes a t-shirt,
snack, the mountain bike tour and the animal tour through the
Intensive Management Area. All skill
levels are the same price and include the same animal tour. So don't fret
if you're not an overly experienced mountain biker, even the
5 year olds in the
trailer are going to see cheetahs, wolves and rhinos. And, the kids that
are in trailers and bike seats are going to see them for only
$15.00 each.
How do I sign
up?:
Contact Cheryl Joslin right now at 254.898-4200. Or
click on her name to sign up by e-mail at cherylj@fossilrim.org.
She'll contact you and confirm
your reservation. She'll also send you a confirmation letter that gives
you directions to Fossil Rim, tells you what to bring with
you, and makes sure
you know what time to be here to ride.
What about
bad weather?:
Bad weather in Texas? That's unheard of. No, wait, I've heard
of that. OK, here's the policy. We will cancel the tour if
we have lightning in Glen
Rose. You
will receive all of your money back. We don't cancel for rain. We don't
cancel for snow. We don't cancel if it is 100 degrees outside.
We don't cancel if
it is raining in Dallas. Trust me, there are a lot of times when the
metroplex is underwater and we're out riding our bikes in the
sun. All guests will
have Adam's cell phone number for the day of the tour. If you are in
doubt about
the riding conditions, call him and he'll tell you the plan. |
