This beautiful pastel of a group of “gossiping” giraffes is just one of many ways you can turn your photos into vibrant pictures.

Education Corner

During this three-day workshop, you will learn to use your own photos to make vibrant pictures, while also learning about composition, color, values, and how to not make too many messes – all in the beautiful safari-like setting of Fossil Rim. It’s three days of hands-on, getting your fingers dirty, fun. This enjoyable workshop will help artists, new and old, experience the vibrancy of pastels.

Ke’vin’s love of art is shown through his ability to help students gain a working knowledge of pastels: “There is a passion between color, image and creative ability. I find that when working in pastels I have no limits. With pastels, everything is possible; we can give, and touch, a part of ourselves that we never thought was possible. Over the years I have learned as much from my students as they have learned from me. It is so pleasing to see what a person can accomplish given the tools.”

Pastel Safari will be March 1st-3rd, 2008. Ages 12 to adult. Cost is $185 per person for entire three-day workshop; optional add-ons of accommodations, Sunset Tour, and Supply Kits available. Reservations are required at least one week in advance. For more information, or to register, call 254-897-2960 ext. 312 or email info@fossilrim.org.
