Education Corner: “Tranquil Sunday”

One of our Party for the Planet participants, Samara A. Holbrook, took this colorful picture of a turtle enjoying a “Tranquil Sunday” as the picture is entitled. Her submission won the Wildlife Explorations: 5th to 8th grade category. Samara won a Peterson Field Guide to Reptiles and Amphibians and Fossil Rim won a digital camera generously donated by Canon U.S.A. Inc.

Samara’s winning photo will be used on the National Environmental Education Week website, and in other related outreach materials. The winners were formally announced in an electronic newsletter and on their website in early June.

We are proud of our winning environmental education programs and look forward to participating with the National Environmental Education Foundation again in 2008!
