If
It Is Old, And It Is Out There, We Will Find It
continued from main page
Everyone
was busy collecting fossils and no one noticed the sky
darkening until it started to rain, before we knew what had happened,
it actually sleeted and snowed!!! The rain came in so fast and
the river rose so quickly that it covered the rock bridge we
had built just an hour before.
The group
was wet and cold but all insisted on hunting for fossils.
It turned out to be one of my best fossils hunts ever! One of
the students even said that it was the best trip they had ever
gone on. It was because of the ice, snow and rain that made it
special for them! Most of the students were not from Texas. They
didn’t know that, if you don’t like the weather in
Texas, just wait awhile, it will change! I even found a lot of
good fossils for my private collection that day!
The very
next day I took a different group out in the same section
of the river, and they wore swimsuits and swam most of the day.
They also found petrified wood the last group missed! It does
not matter how many times you go over the same area, you always
can find something new! |
