Greetings

At Fossil Rim we are gearing up for Spring Break. If you are planning on joining us, please see “How to enjoy your Spring Break visit” If you come during February you can spend some quality time with the animals on the drive through. Dress for the weather and enjoy taking your time viewing, feeding and taking a multitude of photographs of some of the world’s endangered species. Halfway through the drive take the time to sip hot chocolate with a Ruben, Philly Steak, Grilled Veggie, or one of the other tasty sandwiches from the Overlook Café.

Or for a little something different, take advantage of this “Wildlife W@tch” subscribers only 10% off tour. Coupon is good through February.

To say that Fossil Rim's Maned Wolf, Pebbles, is an endangered species is an understatement. The species once thrived, ranging over much of South America. Now, thanks to the rapid conversion of grassland to agricultural production, the Maned Wolf has lost much of its habitat. It’s become a rare sight indeed! There are fewer than 75 Maned Wolves living in North America today. By making a donation, you can help us to help Pebbles raise her next litter of pups, and light one candle in the darkness against the extinction of the Maned Wolf! Find out how your donation can help the Maned Wolf

A Valentine Blessing
by Cassie Peterson, Animal Care Specialist

This is Valentino, a two year old backbuck who resides in the Buffer Pasture (the small, second pasture you encounter on the drive through). Our best guess is that he was born on Valentine ’s Day of 2005. continued
