Katie was paired with Ceasar from 1991 until his death in 2002. They produced three surviving litters of pups, many of which are now in zoos around the country. For the last few weeks, Katie has been off feed, refusing to eat even her quail. As her quality of life seemed to be declining quickly, we immobilized her yesterday and gave her a medical examination.

Dr. Haefele found a large mass. Due to her age and the medical probabilities, the decision was made to euthanize her. We will all miss Katie. She has been a favorite of the Behind the Scenes Tour groups for many years.
