Why Do I Not See Wolves On the Drive Through?

This area is separate from the public drive through and these animals are all in safe enclosures. Our wolves have approximately 2 acres per pair to call home, plenty of room to run and hide when they desire.

We house three species of wolves at Fossil Rim: the Mexican Gray Wolf, the wolf of the American Southwest; the Red Wolf, the wolf of the American Southeast; and Maned Wolves from South America.

The best, and only way to view these animals is to take one of our “Behind the Scenes” tours. On these tours you will be escorted by one of our trained guides who will inform you about these animals and our care of them.
