WOLF RIDGE CAMPS

Wolf Ridge Camps are great outdoor learning “edventures” for groups of all ages and backgrounds.  Campers at Wolf Ridge are given once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to interact with wildlife as they tour our ~1700 acre exotic animal park, hike our nature trails, participate in lively programming led by experienced guides, gather around a campfire and stay the night in our rustic cabins. Not only do our camps give students the much-needed chance to get outside the classroom and explore, but they provide the perfect retreat for scout groups, church youth organizations, large family gatherings, or any other group of young people looking for an unforgettable nature experience. Fossil Rim offers a variety of different camps to suit the needs of our guests, so read on to choose the camp option that’s right for you!

DAY CAMPS

Day Camps are the shortest camps we offer at Fossil Rim, and are a great choice for a day trip for school or scout groups, and can help meet many TEKS and badge requirements. Trained camp guides will help your group identify endangered species, recognize some of the native animals of Texas, and lead you through your choice of games, crafts or other activities.
Day Camps will begin at 9 am and end at 4 pm, and will include a guided tour of the park, a nature hike and 2 camp programs of your choice. You may bring your own lunch or purchase sack lunches from our café for $6.50 per person.

TIME: 9am – 4pm
COST: $45 per person, 1 adult free for every 12 students
PROGRAMMING: You will choose 2 programs from the “PROGRAMS OFFERED” page

OVERNIGHT CAMPS

Overnight Camps are our most popular, as schools, scouts, and other groups take great delight in extending their stay to include after dinner activities around a campfire, such as astronomy, Native American lore, or a night hike, in addition to listening to the night sounds at Fossil Rim. Accommodations are in simple, screened-in, wood-framed bunk houses with restrooms and shower facilities nearby. Participants bring their own sleeping bags and pillows, as well as their own s’mores fixins.
Overnight camps will begin at 10 am and end at 9 am the next day. As with Day Camps, all Overnight Camps will include a guided tour of the park and a nature hike, but will offer 3 programs, the last of which is your choice of our specially designed night programs. Dinner and breakfast will be provided at the café, and you may bring your own lunches or purchase sack lunches from our café for an additional $6.50 per person.

TIME: 10am – 9am the next day
COST: For groups of less than 60: $77 per person, including dinner and breakfast. For groups of 60 or more: $85 per person, including Chuckwagon dinner and breakfast.
PROGRAMMING: You will choose 3 programs from the “PROGRAMS OFFERED” page

BADGE CAMPS

Looking for a fun way to earn badges? Wolf Ridge Camps are the perfect way to go! Your scout group can earn badges during their camp and have fun in the process. Our Camp Coordinator can work with you to set up your schedule and choose which badges you would like to earn. The cost and schedule are the same as an Overnight camp, but the programs you choose will depend on the badges to be earned. You will still get to do a tour of the park and a nature hike, but you will be earning badges as you go! Just ask for a “Badge Camp” as you’re making your reservation and the Camp Coordinator will call you to arrange the details.

If you have any questions, call Kelly Freeman at 254-897-2960, ext.215 or send an email to the Camp Coordinator.
