Our Herd
These deer are what we call a "volunteer" species. Many of the 50 white tailed deer here are descendants of deer that were here when the fences went up. They live in many areas throughout the center. We now have as many white-tailed deer as we can accommodate.

How they live
White-tailed deer occur in a variety of habitats but prefer areas with enough vegatation for hiding. They are mostly active in the early morning and late evening. In the winter months their coats are brownish grey with a light colored underbelly. In the summer months their coat changes to a reddish brown.
